State Convention Update
Thank you to all that attended the Michigan Republican Party State Convention on Saturday, March 28th.
The day started on a sad note with the untimely passing of Jeff Ford. Friends were with Jeff at the convention when he had a heart attack. His loss is felt by many. A separate email was sent with more information. Condolences to family and friends.
Thank you to all the volunteers that made the convention possible. Special thanks to Benjamin Joseph, 10th District Vice Chair, for all his help. Many attendees were amazed that we selected the Attorney General and Secretary of State candidates on the first ballot. The 10th District was selected as one of the Districts for the hand count process. The hand count process was executed as described in the convention rules and the 10th District results balanced correctly. Please let us know if there are things we can do better for the next convention.
Congratulations to Doug Lloyd, Attorney General and Anthony Forlini, Secretary of State endorsed candidates. They join the rest of the statewide candidates for MI Supreme Court, MI Board of Eduction, MSU, UofM and Wayne State. More information and links to their pages are included below. They will be formally nominated at the August Nominating Convention.
Thank you to Kevin Kijewski, Amanda Love and Monica Yatooma for running for office and bringing so many topics forward for discussion. Our ticket will be stronger as we debated the issues and listened to the voters on the items important to them. Unity after the convention is greatly appreciated and goes a long way toward Republican victory. |
